"Very Good.
Very Good.
Yay!"
-Laughter Yoga Chant
So it is no surprise that as a Laughter Yoga Instructor and Workshop Leader, I like playful things. In fact, I go looking for them. I found this video and could not stop laughing.
As part of my work with my partner company New England Laughter, my goal is to bring more joy into the world through laughter. Dr. Kataria, the physician who started Laughter Yoga in 1995 in Mumbai, India has a big dream; world peace through laughter. The first time I read it, I thought it sounded lofty.
I began to bring the practice of laughing more and more into my daily existence. Then months later, I read his explanation of his vision. "When we are laughing, we are not killing each other." And I realized how true his simple yet powerful statement was. When we are laughing, we are also not hurting people, judging others, critiquing ourselves, pained by stress, or living in fear. When we laugh, all we can do is laugh. The more I think about it, the more I believe his mission of peace may have a shot.
With all that said, I want to share an unabashedly fun video with you of three Israeli Laughter Yoga Leaders whose goal is to bring more laughter into the world through music...and well, gibberish. As you watch, try to allow yourself to go into the silliness rather than staying removed from it.
What do we risk by allowing ourselves to laugh more in our lives?
